K - Kitties

There have been a lot of cats in my life... All the way from my first kitten, Penny, who went psycho when I was 5, to Brigitta.... =) to the cats I now work with at the clinic. Here's just a little bit about the cats that I have known and loved.

=)

First there's Brigitta.

Brigitta came to my family 12 years ago as a free, barnyard kitten from the farm down the street. The house we lived in at the time had a serious infestation of mice, and Brigitta was the best mouser you've ever seen! She easily kept up with my dad's mouse traps, often bringing home multiple mice each week. However, before she was even a year old, her tail was run over by a car, which also broke her pelvis completely in half. With her tail bobbed short, our dear mouser retired for a quieter life indoors.
After 10 years of being the best cat anyone could wish for, in many more ways than most of you could even imagine, she developed cancer and was allowed to pass on in February of this year.
I love my Brigitta.
=)

Violet joined our family 5 years ago when Elizabeth announced she was getting a black cat. Off we went to the shelter, where E picked out the most timid, skittish cat I'd ever seen... she was perfect! Elizabeth brought her home and sat with her all day, coaxing her out of corners and from between the two curtains in the shower. They quickly became best friends, understanding each other in a very passive, non-snuggley way.

Violet loves to have her picture taken and will pose for you whenever you pull out a camera... it's honestly one of the weirdest things I've ever seen. You can't help but love E's sleek, beautiful Violet.

Carly came to us very unexpectedly almost exactly 4 years ago. Upon our return home from church, the oddest screaming sound was coming from the engine of our car. When we opened the hood, there was a tiny kitten perched on the battery of the car. It was cold outside, and she had apparently climbed inside seeking warmth. She was unharmed, although quite disheveled, and barely 4 weeks old. We brought her inside, fed her, bathed her, and called her Carly... since we found her in the car.

She definitely has her crazy days, and is by far the loudest cat we have ever owned, but she loves to snuggle and share anything you're eating with you... we love our baby Carly.

My sophomore year of college there was a tabby cat living in the ally behind my apartment... who decided to have kittens! We named them and loved them, and enjoyed the hours spent out there with them while we procrastinated studying and homework.

Now I have class in a vet clinic and get to play with all different kinds of cats...
and I love every minute of their cute, fluffy, purring-ness!

I love my kitties!

J - "Just Jokes!"

That's what Mike says any time he's kidding.

Not,

"I'm joking"

or,

"Just kidding"

but,

"Just jokes!"

...

I love it!

I - I Love Mike Free!

Ladies and Gentlemen, I am officially marrying the most amazing man on the planet! I'm sorry for those of you who missed him, but he's mine now, and you'll just have to take your pick from the "second bests." =)
When am I marrying Mr. Perfect? Oh, three months from... TODAY!

(...this is where we pause to celebrate and admire the adorable love note found on my door this morning!!!)
Yes, after much waiting (some patiently, some not so patiently... probably more the latter...) we have reached another month mark! I feel like Sadie waiting for Josh, "we're in month 9 now!" Thankfully I do not have to wait two years for my Prince Charming, but it's still nice to see another month successfully pass by! We haven't gone stir-crazy yet, and have even managed to have a lot of fun!
I love you Mike! =)

H - Hilarious!

I am quite convinced that I have the silliest roommate and sister ever! These two quite enjoy taking pictures together, most of which are ridiculous and include one or both of them sticking their tongue out or making some other silly face!
Enjoy!

Notice how Kenzie is always on the left and Elizabeth on the right...

Weird huh?

Even when you throw Barrett into the mix they still keep to their own sides.

Believe it or not, they also know how to take cute pictures together!

See?

So much fun!

I love these girls!

They're so cute! Even when Barrett is making a creeper-ish sort of face.

Sometimes they're totally random and weird...
Like when Kenzie tries to pretends to scare Elizabeth while E's not looking...
See??

On very rare occasions they sometimes they decided to be normal. =)

I love my cute, sweet, funny, crazy, totally random roommates!

G - Gowns, Gems, and Gâteau

I bought my wedding dress! As much as I'd love to post pictures of it, Mike reads my blog (hi Mike... I love you!) and it was determined that he will not see the dress until the day of the wedding... thus no pictures.
However.

My roommates went with me to pick the dress up, and had a blast trying on things for themselves! Just see for yourself!
Three cute girls in three very different dresses... Ariella's face is the best!
Kenzie's lovely yellow dress... complete with Christmas socks!
Cute! I love this one!
Who'd have thought Ariella would like trying on dresses? ... Not me!
Elizabeth LOVED this dress! She danced all around the store in it, not paying attention to anything around her as she dreamily twirled from rack to rack... it was cute!
Ariella just being silly =)
Kenzie tried on a dress that was so big for her that she could turtle inside of it. We laughed for quite a while!
Cute girlies! =D

Sadie found the dress of her dreams! Doesn't it look fantastic on her??

SO flattering... I love the buttons down the back! And the train, and the fittedness... and everything else!

So... I realized the other day that Mike and I have been engaged for a few weeks and I STILL hadn't posted a picture of my ring yet.

So here you go!

A far away and a close up!
I LOVE my ring... out of literally about 100 rings I tried on, and TONS more that I looked at, this one was my favorite! I love how the wedding band interlocks with the engagement ring part (pictures to come later when I'm allowed to have that part!)

Thank you Mike for letting me pick it out! I love it... and I love you! =)

Along with all the other wedding plans, I've been looking through wedding cake ideas. Nothing official has been decided yet... nothing unofficial either for that matter! However, here are a few ideas I've found that I like. Enjoy!

I don't love the green (obviously... this IS me we're talking about!) but I do like the swoopy, drapiness of it!

SUCH a cool idea! A water fountain on your cake?! I love it!

I actually don't really like this one, I just like the idea of swirls and flowers, but not the way they're done here

Again, swirls and flowers, this time incorperating the drapiness of the first one... at least to some degree. I really do like this cake!

This is probably my favorite! The swirls are just right, and I love the white frosting flowers. Obviously if I had colored flowers, I would do them in blue, because hey, this IS me we're talking about! =)
